Scheduled Group Outings in the Conejo Open Space

The following outings in the Conejo Open Space are offered by various organizations and hike leaders including (but not limited to) the Conejo Recreation and Park District, the Conejo Group Sierra Club, and the Outdoors Club. None of the outings are offered by the Conejo Open Space Foundation. Sat   March 6   9:30am   Los Robles Trail
Conejo Group Sierra Club
Free! Easy slow paced 4 mile round trip hike with 500 feet elevation gain. See the beautiful Conejo Valley. Enjoy good company and great views. Bring water, food and lug-soled shoes. Meet at the trailhead at the south end of Moorpark Road. Walt Zabriskie 805-497-1775.

Conejo Recreation and Park District - Open Space Appreciation Hike
Free! A leisurely 3 mile walk on Oak Creek Canyon Loop Trail and Spring Canyon Trail with a total elevation gain/loss of about 400 ft. Enjoy the spring wildflowers and look for signs of wildlife while strolling through the natural habitat of the open space. Drive to the south end of Moorpark Rd and turn right on Greenmeadow Ave. Continue on Greenmeadow for a half mile to the Oak Creek parking lot. 805-495-2163.

Thousand Oaks Hikers Meetup Group
Pre-registration and $1.00 per person fee required. Dogs, grab your owners and come on out to this fun hike in Wildwood Park: 3 hours, approximately 350 foot elevation gain, 6 miles. This hike begins as a straightforward stroll, then gets steeper as it climbs to Lizard Rock and panoramic views of the Conejo Valley and the Santa Susana Mountains. We see two waterfalls, and a cave. Trailhead: From the S 101 exit on Lynn heading North, at Avenida de Los Arboles turn left, at Big Sky Drive Look to your Left and you will see a dirt Parking lot. Conejo Recreation and Park District - Open Space Appreciation Hike
Free! This is a moderate 5 mile hike with an elevation gain/loss of about 1000 ft. Although the Conejo Canyons trail system is still in the planning stage, we can walk some of the existing utility roads and trails to enjoy this environmentally sensitive, rugged and scenic open space area. From the 101, drive north on Rancho Conejo Blvd about 1.8 miles, (past Baxter,) then left on Conejo Center Drive 0.2 miles. Gate is on the right. Park on street.
