Another successful Trails Education Days
Thanks to more than 75 TED volunteers plus about 150 parents and teachers! The weather was perfect, and the kids had fun and learned a lot about our open space. Animal sightings included deer, rabbits, western pond turtles, hawks, ducks and snakes. It was a very smooth and wonderful event. With about 1550 kids attending, a lot of people were needed to make this happen. THANK YOU to all who participated!

Open Space Purchase Priority List Workshop
On May 13, 2009, COSCA will hold a public workshop for community input on its Priority List of Areas for Potential Purchase as Open Space. At the workshop, COSCA staff will provide an overview of COSCA's existing Priority List and will recommend potential new priority areas for consideration by the COSCA Board of Directors. The public is invited to the workshop to provide input into this process and to suggest parcels for addition to COSCA's list of areas for potential future acquisition as open space. The workshop will be held in the Board Room at Thousand Oaks City Hall at 6:30pm on Wednesday, May 13th. No RSVP is necessary. For more information please call COSCA Manager Kristin Foord at (805) 449-2505.

Conejo Open Space Foundation
at Conejo Valley Arbor Earth Day

Scores of people visited COSF’s booth at the 2009 Conejo Valley Arbor Earth Day, and learned about the wonderful community resource that is the Conejo Open Space. Many visitors played our Open Space Game, which was a lot of fun as well as educational. By correctly answering simple questions about the open space and/or the environment, contestants won fantastic prizes. Prizes were donated by local merchants, in an overwhelming show of support for the Conejo Open Space.
