Trails Education Days – April 27 through May 1, 2009
A significant goal for the Conejo Open Space Foundation is education. To that end, the Foundation supports the Conejo Open Space Trails Advisory Committee (COSTAC) in coordinating an annual environmental education program for Conejo Valley fifth graders. More than 26,000 students have taken part in Trails Education Days since its inception in 1992. For Trails Education Days program details, click here.

The student’s open space adventure begins with a nature hike. The hike is followed by various programs including live native animal demonstrations, trail safety and courtesy, and presentations by park rangers. Volunteers are needed to lead groups of 10 to 12 students on 1-hour, 1-mile hikes from the Wildflower Playfield to the nature center via Wildwood Canyon Trail. The leader talks to the group about indigenous plant and animal life. Vast knowledge about local plants and animals is not a requirement. Volunteers are also needed to work with the "Safety & Courtesy" workshops, and to help with logistics and organization throughout the week. If you are available and would like to help, please contact one of the Trails Education Days coordinators listed below:

Los Robles Hospital Volunteers support the Conejo Open Space
The Los Robles Hospital Volunteers make financial gifts to a wide variety of non-profit organizations that work for the welfare of many in the Conejo Valley. Sales from the Los Robles Hospital Gift Shop, a non-profit enterprise operated solely by the Los Robles Hospital Volunteers, are the source of funding for these gifts.

Recognizing the Conejo Open Space as a wonderful community resource, Los Robles Hospital Volunteers Inc. has made a generous contribution to the Conejo Open Space Foundation.

Sincere thanks to Los Robles Hospital Volunteers Inc. from the Foundation and from all who work to preserve and protect the Conejo Open Space for all to enjoy.
