2009 Trails Education Days
This year’s Trails Education Days is set for April 27th through May 1st. Almost 1600 fifth graders from the Conejo Valley Unified School District are expected to attend. The event begins with a nature hike, followed by various programs including animal demonstrations, trail safety and courtesy, and presentations by Park Rangers. In a writing contest, the students describe things they learned during their Trails Education Days, such as information about various plants and animals, the ecology of the area, human impact on the environment, or thoughts on how we might better protect our natural resources.
Grant awarded for Trails Education Days
In support of this year’s Trails Education Days, the Conejo Open Space Foundation has received a generous grant from the City of Thousand Oaks Community Events Endowment Fund. The Conejo Open Space Foundation is honored to accept this grant, which will be used to further the success of the 2009 Trails Education Days event.
