Annual Trail Work Day major sponsors
Plans are underway for the 17th Annual Conejo Open Space Trail Work Day, scheduled for October 13, 2007. We are pleased that Carlson Building Materials of Thousand Oaks will again sponsor the "thank you" barbecue for all the volunteer trail workers, and that Bill's Bike Shop of Camarillo will again donate the grand prize for the drawing: a new mountain bike, to be awarded to one lucky trail work volunteer.
New COSTAC members appointed
The Conejo Open Space Trails Advisory Committee (COSTAC) was formed in 1989 to act in an advisory capacity to the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA) Board. The committee of eleven members and two alternates is composed of hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians who are appointed by the COSCA board for three-year terms.
Two new alternate COSTAC members have been appointed: Jerry Mitcham is a hiker and is active in local trail maintenance. Nathan Lee is a bicyclist with an appreciation of the open space, and is interested in contributing to its preservation. Congratulations, and welcome to Jerry and Nathan.
