Welcome to the Conejo Open Space Foundation website
A scenic ring of mountains and ridges surrounds Southern California's Conejo Valley. Permanent protection of many of these beautiful vistas has been achieved through careful planning by Thousand Oaks City leaders and the support of thousands of citizens. But completion of the envisioned open space ring is yet to be achieved.
Surveys have repeatedly shown that preservation, expansion, and protection of our open space are of the utmost importance in maintaining the quality of life that we enjoy here in the Conejo Valley. However, important parcels of land in the private sector could still be developed, thus destroying the hope that a complete ring of natural open space will forever grace our community.
The Conejo Open Space Foundation was formed in 1995 to promote and maintain the open space and trail system of the Conejo Valley and to educate residents as to their roles as custodians and protectors of the open space and the environment. This web site illustrates the Foundation's ongoing programs that are helping to preserve and protect our precious open space.
