Raptor expert Jaclyn DeSantis warns about dangers hawks, owls and eagles face—from us! See her recorded presentation (12/1/2025) - On November 19, Jaclyn DeSantis, education program manager at the Ojai Raptor Center presented “Wild Neighbors: Raptors, Rehabilitation, and the Human Connection” as the final talk of 2025 in COSF’s popular Speaker Series. DeSantis is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and she has seen at lot of injured birds during her 15 years at the Ojai Raptor Center. She says most of these… (read more...)
It’s New Map Monday: Vista Del Mar Loop in Dos Vientos (12/1/2025) - Highlights This route is 4.9 miles long with about 800' of ascent. The Twin Ponds, roughly half way along Vista Del Mar Trail. If there was a substantial amount of rain the preceding winter, there will be waterfowl in the ponds. It’s New Map Monday: Oakbrook Vista Trail (11/24/2025) - Highlights This short out-and-back hike quickly gains elevation to give a good view over Oakbrook Regional Park and Lang Ranch Open Space to the north. You'll get a great view of Albertson Motorway as it winds it's way up the hills. Summer ‘Four Seasons’ photo contest winner is Mike Moessl—again! (9/1/2025) - Congratulations are due once again to Mike Moessl, who submitted this photo of a sunrise seen from the Lang Ranch Open Space for our Summer "Four Seasons" photo contest.
